Martha Ortiz

Born in Colombia, I believe in magic realism. I find that there is nothing more exciting than reality, and inside that reality is where true moments stop time and bring meaning to life.

As a photographer, I look forward to sharing that magic with the viewer by finding and capturing those moments and constantly challenging myself to reach an ideal composition even before I shut the lens. Nothing in my work is pre-determined.

My work is influenced by the journalist spirit of my grandfather, my friends at CPC and the master Henri Cartier-Bresson.

The Lab
It is how I call my very own space for exploration. Trying new techniques and 1000 origami humming birds are keeping me busy right now.

Travel
Nothing is more exciting than a new adventure. Traveling has given me opportunities to mix with other cultures and have provided me with much inspiration for my photographs.

Art
Any art form produces a reaction on me. My emotions are my inspiration. I am always looking, it is a beautiful way to be surprised.
